Meet Your Pet Sitter

Hi! I’m Liz Ostrye. I fell in love with animals long before my professional journey began, spending my weekends teaching family pets to shake hands and fetch. About twelve years ago, I spent five years on staff at Kenwood Animal Hospital in Bethesda, MD, where I learned the science behind animal behavior and decided to get my Pet First Aid certification. That experience gave me my start in professional pet sitting and shaped my approach to compassionate, reliable care.

My mission is to deliver thoughtful, individualized care that puts your pet’s well-being first, combining expert knowledge, genuine affection, and professional integrity on every visit while building a bond of trust with both you and your pet. I also make enrichment a natural part of every interaction, keeping your pet stimulated, fulfilled, and happy while you are away.

For added security, I’m fully insured and bonded, and have completed a third-party background screening for your peace of mind.

When I’m not on client visits, you’ll find me at home spending quality time with my husband and my adorable cat, Tuna. Over the years, working with everything from shy Tabbies to energetic Labradors has taught me that every pet has its own personality and deserves an individualized routine and care plan. That’s why I introduce myself to clients and their pets through a relaxed meet-and-greet at their home, ensuring a low-stress environment for the best experience.

During our time together, I send daily pictures and videos, so you never miss a moment with your furry family member. I handle play, exercise, medication, and special dietary needs exactly as your veterinarian prescribes. My flexible scheduling and 24/7 direct access to my personal cell whenever you’re away from home ensure you’re never more than a call away when your pet is in my care.

If you’d like to see how I can put your mind at ease when you’re away and make your pet’s day a little brighter, let’s schedule a meet-and-greet to get to know each other!
